Dutch type designer best known for his FF Quadraat typeface and his book Counterpunch (Hyphen Press, 1996) exploring the old craft of punchcutting. His fonts are offered from FontFont, the Enschedé Font Foundry, Dutch Type Library, and from 2002 his
Punchcutter of German origin, skilled with designing romans, italics, and ornaments. He worked with Enschedé from 1743 until his death in 1768. His types have been revived digitally by Dutch Type Library.
