Karin Skoglund has many strings to her bow: chairman of the board of Styrnäs Free School in Ångermanland, nothern Sweden, a school which aims to educate the whole person on the learners’ conditions; Cranio-Sacral Therapist; medieval-church guide; singer of Swedish folk songs, player of recorder, zither, clavichord; skilled and versatile craft-worker, keeper of sheep and goats.

Married to whole-person educator Lonny Gold with whom she has three children, Karin draws, paints, knits and sews the whole time without stopping to think about it, what comes out is just part of her personality, not a separate activity, and the children do the same.

Karin’s Lombardy Capitals, from New Renaissance Fonts, are a free and living reinterpretation of the impressions gained from many hours spent reading and singing from mediaeval and renaissance manuscripts.
